Ron's Message

Hello and welcome to Power English. My name is Ron. I've been teaching at Power English for more than 5 years now. I love the community that we have here and always looking forward to seeing my students in the classroom and at the events that we have throughout the year.

A little about me. I'm a small-town, country kid from LaCrosse, Kansas. (Look that up on Google Maps.) It's a German settled "city" that is a 4.5 hour drive from the nearest airport! I always knew the world was a big place and was eager at a young age to get out of the countryside and explore it for myself. I've lived in different cities in America such as Kansas City, Baltimore, Boston, Phoenix and Portland.

I moved to Japan to follow my dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter. I trained hard and had some fights here in Japan. I'm not fighting anymore but I still train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and it's a huge part of my life. I also enjoy music and play in a local band as the singer and rhythm guitar player.

I have many other interests and probably have something in common with you! Please come join my class sometime and feel free to ask me anything you'd like. We might have more in common than you think!

Hello！パワーイングリッシュへようこそ。講師のRonです。ここで働き始めて5年以上経ちました。日々のレッスンや、年間を通して行っているイベントで、生徒の皆様に会えるのを毎回とても楽しみにしています。

少し私の自己紹介をしたいと思います。生まれたのは、LaCrosseというカンザス州のとても小さな町です。（詳しくは、Googleマップを見て下さい）ドイツの移民が多く住む“都市”で、一番近い空港から4時間半の場所にあります。小さい頃から、自分の生まれ育った小さな町の外に出て生活したい、冒険したいと常に夢見ていました。アメリカ国内では、カンザスはもちろんボルチモア、ボストン、フェニックスや、ポートランドに住んだ事があります。

日本に来る事になったきっかけは、夢だったプロのMMAファイターになるチャンスがあったからです。たくさんトレーニングをして、日本で実際にプロのファイターとして活動していました。今は、もう違いますが、引き続きブラジリアン柔術のトレーニングを日課としています。また、音楽も大好きで地元のバンドで、ボーカルとギターを担当しています。
