Anri's Message
Hi, I’m Anri Maruyama, the Head Teacher and Manager of Power English.
With both Japanese and Filipino roots, I have always been surrounded by different cultures, languages, and ways of communicating. Since returning to Japan, I have continued to learn more about the importance of understanding people, not only through the words they use, but also through their experiences and personalities.
Before working in education, I gained experience in hospitality and international customer service. These roles taught me the value of patience, clear communication, and genuine human connection.
At Power English, I support students in improving their English while helping them become more confident in expressing themselves. I believe learning English should be practical, enjoyable, and connected to real-life situations. Making mistakes is a natural part of the process, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing their thoughts, and learning at their own pace.
Outside of work, I enjoy writing, photography, music, films, and visiting new places. These interests help me stay curious, creative, and open to new perspectives.
Most of all, I value creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels heard and supported.

こんにちは。Power Englishでヘッドティーチャー兼マネージャーをしている、丸山安里です。
日本とフィリピン、両方のルーツを持つ私は、昔からさまざまな文化や言語、コミュニケーションの違いに触れてきました。日本に戻ってからは、言葉だけでなく、その人の経験や個性を理解することの大切さを、より深く感じるようになりました。
英語教育の仕事に携わる前は、ホテル業界や国際的なカスタマーサービスの仕事を経験しました。そこで、相手を思いやること、分かりやすく伝えること、そして人とのつながりを大切にすることを学びました。
Power Englishでは、生徒さんの英語力向上はもちろん、自分の考えを英語で伝える自信も身につけられるようサポートしています。英語学習は、実践的で楽しく、日常生活に役立つものであるべきだと考えています。間違えることも学習の大切な一部です。生徒さんには、安心して質問したり、自分の考えを話したり、それぞれのペースで学んでほしいと思っています。
仕事以外では、文章を書くこと、写真、音楽、映画、新しい場所を訪れることが好きです。こうした趣味を通して、好奇心や創造性を大切にしながら、新しい考え方に触れることを楽しんでいます。
そして何よりも、誰もが安心して過ごせて、自分の声を聞いてもらえるような、温かく居心地の良い環境をつくることを大切にしています。
